That's right. But employees will be happy to indentify themselves with the whole company if they are made part of the decisional process and not just receiving orders.

That change will happen if everyone "recognize a clear benefit to their own self-interests" and that everyone in the company work with a "shared vision". For this to be effective, the management has to be able to communicate that vision in a clear and concise way. It is good to know that.

I agree, philsimon, a change in culture in necessary for people to see the forest among the trees.

It's very difficult to get people thinking about the organization and not their job, department, group, and/or division. I'd argue that the tech isn't the limitation; it's the people behind it.
