I'm curious to hear more from the folks who took this week's quick poll and responded that quality of data visualizations is inconsistent. Why do you suppose this is? Is the data not clean? Has the business failed to ask the right questions? Other reasons?

As SAS blogger Jennifer Marchi wrote last year,

"...it is a lot easier to understand and grasp concepts through pictures than through text. That's why visualizing data is so important for businesses.  It's not just that a picture is worth a thousand words.  It's that reading a thousand words takes time...and, in today's economy, there's simply no time to waste."
