I am not sure about the camapigns. I do know there's a Twitter Index current monitoring the buzz on Obama and Romney campaigns. Correlating the data agains the polls surveys is an early development, but it will certainly accelerate the need for a "measurement command center" in the future.
Hi Pierre, I like that idea of establishing a command center of analytics for major events. I suspect we see that already with the presidential campaigns, no?
Beth, excellent point - it may also raise of a question of establishing a command center of analytics that fits the orchestration of periodic, huge events like the Olympics. At least within media where networks may cover an event with two separate organizations, as NBC has.
We'll see if tape delay's dismise is accelerated after the Olympics is done, and if analytic data is used in a defensive measure the way NBC did here.
