For a while, I was thinking I could mark communications skills as the most important. Having some of the other skills and zero communications skills makes for a weak candidate. But if all you've got is communications skills, we'll need several other people around you. That is, if you even have a role to play.
Analytics is a team sport. The most important skill in a new-hire today is the one that my team is currently lacking. It could be any of these.
It's like the NFL. Several teams may be looking for a quarterback this year. My team's not one of them, so we're looking to spend our first draft pick on another position.

Other = Demonstrated business acumen with experiencing managing the P&L of a product line, business unit or division. This is essential if a data scientist is going to tackle the enterprise's toughest problems.
