TV programming reflecting the widespread nature of tech

Nice point about hacking the pacemaker.  I think movies and TV have always reflected what was possible, but much of the programming now has to reflect extended technology rather than something so futurist.  Take James Bond - the Daniel Craig version deals with more personal complexity, but also less specialty tool - no flying equipment like in You Only Live Twice or seat ejector - now those things are treated as relics, as Bond uses the same cell phones that the public recognizes.
