Jim exactly the cost of becoming part of the considered set is expensive with the cost of a conversion topping that-- getting through the clutter and getting the users engaged with your brand will win you new customers. Yes because I am an analytic marketer at heart I would love to see the conversion rate from visitors

Maryam, hundred percent agreed with respect to your point about engaging potential customers. The organization must have belief in such marketing campaigns' effectiveness because it requires commitment to the objective and additional investments.

Dave, I think this idea will work effectively. People don't remember the property dealers they have dealt with but rather they remember any specific event that could remind them of it.

@Maryam. For every 10 people who see this Zillow item, how many will keep Zillow in mind when they need to buy or sell a house? 2? 8? Even one out of 10 would make this worth it. It keeps the company top of mind.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Maybe Zillow needs to do something for thanksgiving to show where you'd have to loive to over the river and throught the woods to get to grandmother's house on Thanksgiving.

Dave it a great example of using your core competence for a marketing efforts that will draw indirect audiences. So many companies will focus their efforts on their brand and message and use only traditional means of promotion. This type of play shows that you can leverage a popular theme to get attention and then use it to engage users that might not have considered your application. In the end it drives visitors and could increase converts to your service long term. Zillow marketers may have to one up them on Thanksgiving!
