Should have checked the Forbes article first ! : ) Many great applications of Python are in use and I think it will probably be the best programming language for the task. Welcome to the new age - Cobol with a twist.
I was studying this anyway, so it is nice to learn that it can crossover into the realm of Big Data quant.

Jamescon I am really looking forward to the video and chat. And I for one am guilty of not doing much thus far in the pursuit of Big Data respectability. The year is young though, but it is very difficult to sacrifice any economic wind that might be blowing now for potential more forceful ones later.
But I intend to continue to inch forward, as always.
