As I've indicated in a number of posts here on A2, I'm a strong believer in the effectiveness of good data visualization, not just in addressing skepticism, but in promoting a concept or issue in general.
Data visualization is also highly effective in the public sector — for example, I frequently use graphs to "market" ideas and make a case for issues in my own field of public transportation.
There have been at least a couple of good "A2 Radio" discussions and chats about the value of data visualization, what works and what doesn't, etc. I've learned some good tips, and these resources have also tended to corroborate my own strong belief in the KISS principle (Keep It Simple, Stupid) when designing and presenting data visualizations for your audience.
