@jamescon Agreed. Like any new initiative, I think it's important to find an analytics task or mission that's easy for stakeholders to get their arms around and provides a tangible, preferably immediate reward to help create an early, positive vibe.

@Jim S. Good point about focusing analytics on specific tasks or missions, at least at the start of an analytics initiative. As I think we have all seen with other new business concepts in the past, if you target the new effort -- in this case analytics -- at the pressing/high reward issues and opportunities that can serve as a proving ground for an eventual spread of analytics use throughout the more of the organization.
