Thank you for the radio show !!! really interesting topics!!!

Prospector

Thank you - I liked what he covered today. This was great.

Blogger

Shucks. Thanks anyway to Alistair and to you for the great show, Jessica!

Blogger

apologies for the last minute notice that he is unable to join us for that part. But thanks to our audience for listening in and participating in today's chat!

Blogger

We are having a few technical problems with Alistair joining the text chat today.

Blogger

Really gets into the nitty gritty of defining roles -- no matter how many people are involved and how far flung.

Blogger

Self-policing and crowdsourcing kind of become the norm when you're talking about this kind of stuff, which can bring up their own anti-Lean issues, I suppose.

Blogger

The self policing may be a default because so much of the effort is under private businesses and organizations - it is still hitting government agencies that are in a nacient stage.

Blogger

@Zimana: One of the many issues of crowdsourcing.

Of course, fewer potholes is better than more potholes, and finding this issue and starting somewhere helped to address the rest of the problem.

Blogger

Exactly Joe! I need to look up the Big Data has a Civil Rights problem

Blogger

Another way of observing GIGO (Garbage In; Garbage Out)

Blogger

Oh love this example

Blogger

I like the mention about behavior change being linked to a good metric.

Blogger

Oh wait, I hear now  his point of using experimentation to find causality - the "facts" of how to think about the data.

Blogger

@Zimana: Of course, experimentation => more data => more hypothesis. ;)

Blogger

Data is hypothesis, experimentation is facts -- I had not considered that perspective.  I would have thought it to be the other way, but may be missing the point.

Blogger

"Big Data" tends to mean data > than we can handle. Lean, therefore, suggests compartmentalizing and making sure you handle in manageable chunks rather than get distracted.

Blogger

Case in point would be Google vs. Yahoo. Yahoo became a big bloated company and started acting like it. Google became a big bloated company and still continues to act like a startup (at least to some degree). Compare.

Virality is a new word to me

Blogger

I like that he highlights the metric that matters at the moment where your business maturity is. It's about timing to understand what is helpful.

Blogger

Question for Alistair: Do we see some aspects for data management improve with data ops, which picks up some agile methodology to manage data.

Blogger

Please stand by - our presenter is dialing back in to reconnect

Prospector

QUESTION FOR ALISTAIR: As both marketing and analytics have picked up Agile/Lean methodologies from the realm of programming, how has agile/lean marketing been enhanced by agile/lean analytics?

Blogger

Here and looking forward to it!

Catch you all at 1 PM ET!
